It is created on the basis of artel "Zavievy Ilyicha", based in 1924 as a
result of reorganization of "varnia" - private enterprise of manual jakkard
weaving where the boiling of thin, so-called Dutch, cloth was made
Jakkard wooden machines have appeared in Ryapolovo in the second half of XIX
century then the manufacture of special flax table cloths of first-rate quality
has been adjusted. In 1923 at the All-Russia handicraft exhibition in Moscow
the high quality Ryapolovsky products has been marked. In the 30-40s the
factory releases flax and half flex jakkard table cloths and blankets, and also
coupon fabrics for man's shirts and summer female dresses from linen, cotton
and viscose yarn. At the common high technical quality of products of
Repolovsky factory of this period the basic part of it was developed according
to old drawings of the beginning of XX century in "modernist style. New
drawings were frequently not very artistic as the factory had no constant
qualified artist. Since the 50s the work of the factory is connected with
creativity of artist T.A.Isaeva who from 1951 till 1958 works there constantly,
and from 1961 to 1970 - as an employee NIIHP and periodically helps the factory
in development of new assortment of products and in definition of its art
orientation. The main feature of Ryapolov weaving factory which singles it out
from a lot of other enterprises of jakkard weaving is that connection with
Russian folk art is clearly seen in the products. So, Ryapolov jakkard table
cloths and napkins of the last years (artist T.A.Isaeva) remind with their
character of ornamentals and folk techniques of the execution North-Russian old
table cloths("stoleshniky").Unique exhibition products such as curtain "Cities
- heroes", and also a series of souvenir-gift products in technics of jakkard
weaving with the manual embroidery of authors T.A.Isaeva and L.I.Karmanova
(1967-1968) have been executed at the factory. Ryapolovsky products from pure
flax with the use of techniques of folk weaving, produced in small series, have
high art quality. Alongside with highly artistic small series products the
factory produces massively cotton blankets, half flax tablecloths and curtain
fabrics.
Since 1960 gradual transition of Ryapolovskaya weaving factory to release of
weaven products made after patens of folk weaving on mechanical jakkard
machines is carried out.
Three manual jakkard machines were left in the factory for producing of small
series articles of high artistic quality with the use of folk weaving
techniques.
