It is created in 1987 as branch of the Ivanovo art museum with the purpose of preservation of the creative heritage of Russian artist Dmitry Alekseevich Trubnikov.
Since 1992 the gallery became municipal. The building in which the gallery is situated is a monument of wooden architecture of the middle of XIX century., included in old believer's merchant manor Gorbunov-Losev. Basically the lay-out and furnishing of interiors is kept.

The private residence has three floors with a basement and an underground tunnel. The house is decorated by the stone hall and a verandah with an exit in the ancient park. The basic part of the fund collection includes the works of fine arts. Among them it is necessary to note the big collection of painting and graphic works of D.A.Trubnikov,and the works of his pupils. The greatest interest arouses the works of professor of painting, People's artist of Russia Maksimov K.M. and the collection of bronze sculptures of other pupil of Trubnikov J.G.Ushakov. Besides these works paintings of modern Ivanovo and Fourmanov artists are kept in the gallery, there is a collection of numismatics and a collection ancient Russian painting of XVII I-XIX centuries.

In picture gallery there are 7 showrooms, in three of them there are permanent expositions:
- A memorial hall of artist D.A.Trubnikov
- "Russian log hut" is an exposition telling about the way of life of Russian peasantry at the end of XIX - beg.of XX century - "The merchant Sereda" - an exposition telling about the history of the city,the origin of the textile industry in the region.

It is created in November, 1996 to the 80 - anniversary of M.A.Dudin's birthday. The basis of the museum's fund is materials about life and creativity of the poet and M.A.Dudin's literary collections. Among valuable exhibits there are books from personal library of the poet.
The biggest part of fund is made up of study of local lore materials: paintings of artists V.Zhuravlev and J.Pjatov with the views of nearby surroundings, photos of various periods of life of the poet, notes of the songs written on his verses, audiocassettes of the songs performed on Doudin festivals, personal belongings and records of a voice of the poet, and also compositions and drawings of the students of Fourmanov and regional schools, the journalist materials devoted to M.Dudin and collected in one book «Everything, that sounded in the soul of my life».

The following themes are presented In the exposition of the museum:” I have met the life in the village”, “Love and nature called me to the poetry”, ”His fighting line”, ”The word about solar man”, ”The last shelter”, ”Gifts to the museum”.

The house in which in 1891 Dmitry Andreevich Fourmanov the Soviet writer (novels "Chapaev", "Mutiny", "The Red landing", etc.), comissar of the legendary Chapaev divisions was born and spent his early childhood.
The building has been built in the second half XIX century and belonged to grocery trader Medvedev. On a ground floor of a house there was a tavern, on the second - the rooms where family Furmanov rented a room till 1897.
In 1951 the library named after D.A.Furmanov was opened in the house. In 1958 with the help of all city dwellers public museum had been opened, exhibits for which were collected by pupils of schools. In 1964 the museum was awarded with a rank of national, and in 1968 the museum gets the status of state museum as a branch of Ivanovo museum of regional study. Nowadays it is the branch of Ivanovo association of historic revolutionary museums.

Situated in a two-storeyed brick building of XIX century, former merchant’s house. In the beginning the museum had the status of a local one. Opened for visitors in March of 1966.In December of 1971 the museum gained the status of independent and municipal. The museum has no stationary regional study exhibition, it works in the form of exhibitions. Permanent exhibitions: «From the history of Gavrilov-Possad”,The fauna of our region», and also some changing exhibitions of local funds and some other museums.

Opened in 1960. Situated in the building of former technical high school, built in 1886 according to the project of architects P.V.Troitski and V.F. Sikorski.Total area of the building is 29000 sq.km.,exposition area –1734 sq.km.

There is an art shop.It offers rich choice of articles made in Palekh, Holui, Mstera, Zhostovo, Khokhloma, Pavlov possad, Rostov, Krasnoye and the paintings of Ivanovo artists.

House-Museum of People’s Artist of the USSR.Laureate of Lenin and State Awards, Member-Correspondent of Art academy of the USSR Prorokov B.I. was opened on the 4 of June 1980 in the house of his parents.
The museum has permanent art exhibition about the life and work of B.I.Prorokov and exhibition hall. Musical concerts of professional and amateur orchestras of Ivanovo are traditionally held there.

The museum of A.I.Morosov, People’s Artist of Russia, patron of art, Honoured Citizen of Ivanovo was opened on 19 of September 2001.
    The museum is situated in a wooden one-storeyed house built in 1910 in historically formed central part of Ivanovo-Voznesensk by a nobleman, Austrien by the origin Ludwig Pavlovich Auer.
    Since 1928 this house is the property of doctor M.S.Vikhman, whose family was close to Morosov from his childhood. The artist chose this house for organizing the museum.
    It has 5 exposition halls. The exposition of the museum is art memorial. 74 works of A.I.Morosov give us the idea of changing of the artist’s style who had been working all his life. The life of the artist is presented by authentic articles from the rich memorial fund., which are exhibited in chronological order.Documents,photos,personal belongings, video materials,audiotapes, installations show a passionate individuality with a bright and original character. Stage costumes,sculpture, musical instruments tell us about the artist’s hobbies.

Museum is the oldest and best known among others in our region. The building housing it is architecturally unique. It was built in 1914 according to P.Trubnikov design and financed by Ivanovo-Voznesensk factory owner and collector of rarities and antiquities D.G.Burylin for exhibiting his collections.

“Artillery of 18-20 cent.from the collection of D.G.Bourilin”.

The Ivanovo Cotton Miseum is located in the "Modern" style building erected at the beginning of the XX century on the architect A.F.Snurilov's project and belonged to D.G.Burylin. The museum was opened in May 1987.
    The museum displays illustrate textile production in Ivanovo area from ancient times to present. Exhibited are:
    peasants’ tools for making linen,
    unique boards – manera – for applying patterns to fabric,
    specimens of hand made fabrics and costumes,
    fabrics of industrial printing
    costumes of 19-20th centuries.

The Library of D.G.Bourilin is the rarest and the richest collection of books and printed works which is of great value not only for Ivanovo but for the whole Russia. This collection appeared due to the energy and restless activity of D.G.Bourilin, manufacturer and collector of antiquities and rarities. The library was triumphantly opened together with the museum of industry and art on 26 of December of 1914. One of the best halls of the museum was given to the library. The library was meant to be public and free of charge. It was working from 10 in the morning till 10 at night every day except church holidays.There was a reading hall in it for public readings and lectures. D.G.Bourilin’s collection of books contained literature in different languages on different branches of knowledge.
    Nowadays D.G.Bourilin’s collection of books is deprived of its integrity.The main aim of library’s reconstruction as a whole is to join separated parts of the collection.
    In one unit,to make it bigger, to preserve and make it popular again.
    The number of volumes in Bourilin’s library is more than 10000 items. A special building was erected for the library, it is situated on the territory of the Museum of Ivanovo cotton on the territory of D.G.Bourilin’s estate. In the house of library there are depository for library museum fund,basic funds of rare books,store-house for albums with the examples of Russian and foreign cloths of XIX-XX cent., room for work of textile experts,a reading-room with electronic catalogues.

    Association of Historic Revolutionary Museums of Ivanovo was formed as the result of reorganization of Ivanovo Historic Museum of Regional Studies named after D.G.Bourilin in December of 2002.

Since 2002 work on creation of a cycle of the chamber exhibitions devoted to history of well - known Ivanovo-Voznesensky families began. The task of this project, using materials of family archives to acquaint visitors with a way of life, traditions, mutual relations in family, family leisure, with that huge experience which has been saved up in families in the past.
    In November, 2002 in «the House of family Boubnov» the first exhibition on which original documents are exposed, the photos telling about the history of the family Boubnov and one of its bright representatives - Andrey Sergeevich Boubnov was opened.
    The special atmosphere for penetration into the world of this family is created by domestic warmth of an ancient house in which some generations of family Boubnov lived.
    The exhibition telling about the history of the family Zhourov started from May, 2003, based on documents of their patrimonial archive work. The interlacing of destinies of representatives of families Boubnov and Zhourov has found direct reflection in photos and documents of this archive - Peter Zhourov studied in Ivanovo-Voznesensk technical school together with Andrey Boubnov.
    The memorial-museum space «Houses of family Boubnov» creates a confidential, informal atmosphere for holding different occasions : literary - musical performances, chamber performances, sessions of the Round tables devoted to questions of sociology of family, the thematic classes, the dramatized excursions.
    Association of cognitive and educational problems of the museum with elements of organization of family leisure in the walls of the museum building is bright expression of social function of a museum.

In May, 1962 the memorial museum - study of M.V.Frounze - the commissar of the Yaroslavl military district was opened.
    The museum study settles down in the former residence of Ivanovo-Voznesensky manufacturer Zubkov. The private residence has been constructed in 1846 in style of a baroque under the project of architect K.A.Ton. The fact, that in 1863 grand duke Nikolay Aleksandrovich during the travel across Russia, having visited village Ivanovo, stopped in house Zoubkov where solemn reception was given to him, is interesting.
    From August, 1918 till December, 1919 the building of the commissariat of the Yaroslavl military district was placed.
    Its establishments have been transferred from Yaroslavl to Ivanovo - Voznesensk after suppression of the Yaroslavl White Guard uprising. From August, 1918 till January, 1919 the Yaroslavl military commissariat was headed M.V.Frounze.
    The building is a monument of the state construction and M.V.Frounze's military activity.

Center is a complex profile museum. It combines theme and collection exhibitions of various types.
It is placed in a building specially built in 1980 under the individual project of architects A.I.Tolstopjatov and V.M.Shahmatov for an exposition, devoted to revolutionary events in 1905, closed in 1992.
Works at exhibitions,it has no constant exposition.
Display area more than 2000 sq.m, a conferencence hall for 180 places, equipped with a film projector and modern technical means. The souvenir booth works, there is a bar,a parking place.

Building of former petty-bourgeois town council in Ivanovo-Voznesensk. It has been constructed in 1904 under the project of engineer P.D.Afanasjev. In May, 1905 sessions of all town Soviet of working deputies created during general political strike of Ivanovo-Voznesenski workers were held there. Since 1919 various establishments, then municipal apartments were placed here.In 1967 the building has been transferred{handed} to regional management of culture and on November, 4, 1967 the museum devoted to the First Soviet of working deputies is open.
In 1981 re-exposition of the museum has been carried out and memorial conditions of a building of petty-bourgeois council of the beginning of XX century which has existed till 1990 is restored.
In 2005 100 anniversary of the events of the First Russian revolution and the First All Russia Soviet of working deputies in Ivanovo-Voznesensk is held. General political strike of Ivanovo-Voznesenski workers, creation and activity of the First Soviet are bright revolutionary events. A reconstruction of a museum of the First Soviet, after 15 years of oblivion, is a natural process socially claimed. The museum is socially significant and actual today, necessary for an objective reconstruction of historical process. Historical event in a historical place, objective interpretation of events from the point of view of the contemporary, preservation in memory of all historical details, without withdrawals and denominations, without irony and aplomb, preservation of historical memory as display of the supreme form of tolerance of a society that is the basis of the concept of the Museum of the First Soviet.

It was opened on May, 18, 1995 after the reconstruction that continued of several years.
    The Tsvetayev family museum is located in 3 km from Ivanovo in Novo-Talitsy village in the house where several generations of the famous Russian Tsvetayev family. The interior restores the traditions of Russian home, a family nest. The large collection of memorial things introduces visitors to the life and inner world of the Tsvetayevs, their services to their fatherland.
    The house-museum is recreated on the place of the old house of the priest V.V.Tsvetaev who was serving in a temple of Nikolay the Thaumaturge. It is the beautiful Russian house with a yard for house-hold work and a penthouse, standing on a high bank of the river Vergouza near the old church in Talitsy where the Tsvetaev lived until 1928.
    This patrimonial family that gave the country professor-philologist Ivan Vladimirovich Tsvetaev, the founder of the Museum of the fine arts in Moscow, professors of a history Dmitry Vladimirovich Tsvetaev, poet Marina Ivanovnu Tsvetaeva, writer Anastasy Ivanovna Tsvetaeva, a patrimonial family whence the roots of ancient and famous Tsvetaev family appear.
    The museum of the family Tsvetaev is still young, but already known and loved by many admirers of the talent of the representatives of this remarkable family.

    The museum has been founded in 1919 as a scientific - art museum under the initiative of a district department of national education.
    In the 20s it is called natural-historical and art museum. The natural-historical department has been represented by collections on zoology, geology, botany. The art department represented collections of painting and works of arts and crafts from the nationalized nobility manors. The museum was placed in a building of former church of the Ascension, built in 1779. In January, 1930 the museum has been transferred in a building of former church of the Ascension constructed in 1779. In January, 1930 the museum began to be called local museum of regional studies.
    In 1966 there was a division of uniform structure of a museum - the Kineshemskaya picture gallery has been formed.It was placed in the building of St. Trinity cathedral constructed in 1838.
    On March, 1, 1998 the museum is renamed in State Kineshma historical art-museum.
    From 1919 to 1999 thematic collections are completed:
    - Natural-historical and archeological XI - XIII centuries (finds from meryansky and slavic burial places in Kineshma area);
    - numismatic XVII - XX centuries;
    - Painting and graphics of XV century.
    Expositions of the museum are placed in three buildings: a monument of architecture of XVIII century - the Temple of Ascension - a study of local lore exposition, a monument of architecture of XIX century - a former almhouse poor with house Church of the Holy Virgin - picture gallery, in a wooden tower in the zone of recreation park of. Navoloky - a showroom.

In the hall " Art of XX century " works of artists are submitted, whose creativity is connected with Kineshma.
The classical school of painting is submitted by works of: L.Chernov-Plessky - the graduate of the Petersburg academy of arts, P.Krivonogov - well-known battle painter, People's artist M.Maljutin. An other form of self-expression is presented by artists of modern school of arts: B.Kozlov, V.Goppe, V.Shagin, V.Shljundin, I.Belyaev, E.Trofimov, E.Voynova, ceramics is represented by A.Severov and K.Uryzhev

Settles down in a monument of architecture of XVIII century - the Temple of Ascension.
The study of local lore exposition carries the name: "Kineshma. History and destinies". It is the result of a long-term research and collective works of the stuff of the museum, representing the richest material of history of Kineshma since the most ancient times prior to the beginning of XX century. The exposition suggests the visitor to become the witness of the certain epoch, "to take part in it", not imposing thus the settled sight at historical events, allows to make own conclusions. The special attention in the exposition is given to the theme of person, family which are viewed in the context of the history of Russia and Kineshma.
One of the exhibitions - "Pearls of manor Stoudionye Kluchy" - represents unique works of art from N.P.Ruzsky's nationalized collection (1865-1927) - the large industrialist, the collector, the patron of art. Here embroidered pictures of XIX century, samples of products from porcelain, glasses, faience of the Imperial porcelain factory, F.Gardner, A.Popov's private factories, Kouznetsov and the West-European manufactories XVIII - XX centuries, oven tiles, products from bronze, copper, pig-iron of the Ural factories in Kusly and Coosa, products of sculptor E.Lansere and foreign masters, the decorative subjects executed in technics of filigree and a ivory carving, samples of the Russian and foreign furniture manufacture, the refined decor clocks, author's moulding of St.-Petersburgs master of bronzing F.Shopen and A.Sokolov and other subjects are exhibited.

The creation of the public museum was started by regional specialists - enthusiasts who founded the basis of the collection and the future state museum. Its direct birth is connected with the name of the Russian inventor, the founder of electro arc welding of metals of N.N.Benardos. In July, 1981 in Loukh the museum dedicated to his life and his inventive activity was opened. In 1998 the new study of local lore exposition was open. The most significant in the museum collection - N.N.Benardos's original drawings - 80 units of storage. In the museum there are 2 expositions:
    - An exposition devoted to life and activity of N.N.Benardos;
    - A study of local lore exposition under the name "Loukh - pages of history".
    There is a hall for mobile exhibitions.

    The state museum of Palekh art (GMPI) represents the museum complex uniting 7 buildings in which are placed:<>br- the Department of a lacquer miniature;
    - A pre-revolutionary department;
    - The I.I.Golikov's house museum;
    - The N.M.Zinovjev's house museum;
    - N.V.Dydykins house-workshop;
    - P.D.Korin's house - museum;
    - Library-information center.
    The decision on opening the museum in Palekh is accepted by Soviet of national commissars on May, 8, 1934. The museum was open for visitors on March, 13, 1935. The first exposition occupied four rooms. The concept of the museum and structure of its collection were developed by the first director GMPI Herman Vasilyevich Zhidkov.
    The collection of the museum reflects the history of development of Palekh art, the change of generations of masters, change of subjects of works, appearance of new directions in Palekh art.

    On December, 5, 1984 N.M.Zinovjev's house-museum was opened.
    All exhibits in the house remind of the family of the artist, its life and rural, patriarchal Russian way of life. In N.M.Zinovjev's house - museum the exposition is placed in the kitchen, chamber and study.
    N.M.Zinovjev is an artist of lacquer miniature and a painter. The hero of socialist labor, People's artist of the USSR, painted icon compositions in different styles, slightly imitating V.M.Vasnetsov. participated in restoration of external frescos of the Assumption Cathedral of Moscow Kremlin, the author of books «The Art of Palekh», «Stylistic traditions of Palekh Art» supervised over restoration of the interior of lacquer study Monplesier in Petrodvorets near Leningrad (1956-1957г.г.).

The museum-workshop of the Leningrad sculptor, the honored worker of arts of the Russian Federation - N.V.Dydykin was opened on December, 12, 1978.
    The works of the sculptor are kept in the museums of Saint Petersburg, Moscow, Tikhvin, Yaroslavl and others. Part of his works is exhibited in the museum - workshop in the native land in Palekh.
    In the museum - workshop A.S.Pushkin's monument - a copy of the monument to the poet in St. - Petersburg in the internal court yard of the last apartment on quay of the river Mojki, house 12 is established. The monument of N.A.Nekrasov is exhibited here too. The monument is established in the native land of the poet in the village Grishnevo of the Yaroslavl district.
    L.N.Tolstoy's sculptural portrait is modeled from red clay in Palekh.

The main building of GMPI is brick, two-stored.
The department of laquer miniature " The Sobviet Palekh" of the State museum of Palekh art was opened on March, 13, 1935 during the celebration of the 10 years anniversary of "Artel of ancient painting".
    The basis of the collection of the department of laquer miniature is lacquer and the graphics of Palekh masters, works on porcelain, sketches of mural, lacquer monumental panels, book graphics, a collection of the West-European painting of XVI - XIX в.в., works of Russian artists.
    On December, 5, 1994 by the seven-decade of Palekh art of lacquer miniature the new exposition of the museum which reflects the history of Palekh miniatures, appearance of new directions in the creative work of masters was opened.
    The collection of a museum enables to get acquainted with many-sided activity of artists.

It was opened in 1974. The house in which the museum is located, is constructed at the end of 60s - the beginning of 70s of XIX century.
    In this house Korin Paul Dmitrievich, - People's artist of the USSR, a member of the Academy of Science, the winner of Lenin and State prizes of the USSR was born and spent his childhood and lived until 1967.
    The house is spacious, it consists of two parts: a country log hut (kitchen and a chamber) and a summer part of the building.
    There are six rooms in the house. They are united by a long passage. In the corridor the documentary exposition is telling about the childhood, years of the way of life of the painter, and also about the Moscow period of activity of the painter. The way of life of the icon painter in the end XIX - the beginning of XX century is saved in the rooms.

The Library Information center and showroom - shop of the State museum of Plaekh arts was opened on July, 5,2000.
The center has a library (a media library) the book fund of which is 6,5 thousand books, among them are hand-written and books published in Russia in XVII - XVIII centuries, books on history of art, world history, the literature on art in Russian and foreign languages. Photos and negatives concerning the history of Palekh are kept in the library fund of the museum, and also family archives of artists, the richest fund of icon graphics of Palekh.
In the center a study is equipped with film-video-audio materials and slides, Internet is available.

In 1980 on the request of regional organizations the decision of the Council of Ministers of RSFSR about creation of Plios State historical-architectural and art museum - national trust was accepted Its main goal is to provide protection of monuments of a history and culture, the natural landscape of city of Plios and neadby territories for more effective utilization in patriotic, ideological - moral and aesthetic education.

The house - museum of the great Russian artist - landscape painter Isaak Ilyich Levitan in Palekh, one of the most popular museums on the Volga, was opened on August, 25, 1972 in the house belonging to merchant P.Solodovnikov before revolution.
In this house the artist lived and worked in summer of 1888-1889 together with the friends - artists A.S.Stepanov and S.P.Kuvshinnikova.
There are two exposition halls in the ancient private residence. The materials of the first hall acquaint with the creative biography of the artist, original works of I.I.Levitan's and his friends are placed in the second hall.Memorial rooms where I.I.Levitan, A.S.Stepanov, S.P.Kuvshinnikova lived are in an attic.

It's the only museum of a landscape in Russia (it was opened on November, 14, 1997).
    The building of the museum - is one of the first stone buildings in the city, constructed in the end of XVIII century. It is a former private residence of merchant Groshev, whom I.I.Levitan painted in a picture " Evening. The gold Plios" (1889).
    The character of the collection developed during three dozens years, unique position of Plios, small historical city on the Volga with a rich history and culture, with high aesthetic potential of its landscape, gave the basis for creation of the Museum of landscape, the exposition of which is artistically connected with the main exposition, which is situated in the open-air, and is subordinated to common idea: "the Unification of person and nature - is a source of spirituality and culture".

The works of I.I.Levitan, A.K.Savrasov, I.I.Shishkin, P.P.Vereshchagin, V.K.Bjalynitsky-Birulya, A.M.Korin, S.J.Zhukovsky, V.V.Perepletchikov, M.H.Aladzhalov, D.A.Trubnikov, V.A.Fedorov, M.I.Maljutin, M.S.Ageev and other artists are in the new museum.

The impetus to creating the museum was the flooding of Puchezh by the Volga waters in 1952. Its foundation was initiated by Alexei Bolshakov (1909-1982), Puchezh land management engineer. The first exhibits were put on display in a small dwelling house (Pavel Zarubin St., 43).

In 1960 the museum was moved to other premises and occupied the ground floor of a dwelling house (Lenin St., 43). In 1960 the museum acquired the status of a state institution. From 1977 to 1997 it was a part of the Ivanovo State Association of Museums of History and Local Lore of the region. Since 1998 the museum is a municipal property.
In 1998 the museum was allocated new premises, where on the 3rd of November a new exposition was opened named "Nostalgia for the Old Puchezh".
Museum's exposition occupies 3 halls: The 1st hall - "The World of a Russian Peasant" (the exposition includes instruments, household articles, peasants' apparel of the end of the XIX century, documents relating to the history of Zemstvo and public education).

The 2nd hall has 2 sections: "The World of Merchants Posad" - the core of the exposition is formed by the documents associated with the history of Posad, the Volga river and the Volga stream ship line, economic development, social order and culture of Puchezh at the end of the XIX - the beginning of the XX century and "Russian People in Soviet Times" - exhibits put on display in this section enable to trace the history of Puchezh from 1918 to 1960. Among them are photos of the first automobile and tractor produced in Puchezh, arrival of the first airplane and balloon, articles: an electric lamp of 1925, earliest crystal receivers, banknotes, coins being in use in the early years of the establishment of Soviet power in Russia, materials associated with Puchezh inhabitants who took part in the Great Patriotic War and 17 flax-growers, Heroes of the Socialist Labour.

The building is brick, two-storeyed,and of historical value.There are 8 halls In the museum.the history of Rodniki and Rodnikovski region is presented in 2 halls; an exposition "Live and remember" telling about the fellow countrymen - soldiers who had been lost in the Second World War, Afghanistan, the Chechen Republic, etc.)works in the next hall; 3 hall houses art galleries (decorative - applied art and painting). There is a room for carrying out of parties, meetings, literary - musical evenings.

The monument of history of federal value of XIX century was founded in 1939 as M.V.Frunze's memorial museum.
    6 thousand units of storage: a memorial collection about life and M.V.Frunze's activity,the collection of his colleagues, a collection of posters of XII World festival of youth and students in Moscow 1984, L.Kozyrev's philatelic collection, a collection on history of Komsomol,the fund of regional specialist S.Iljin.

    On a ground floor there are a concert hall and showrooms. The unique character of a museum: the structure of a historic revolutionary museum with M.V.Frunze's memorial collection is kept.

Monument of history and culture of the XIX century, has regional value, pseudo-Russian style, 34 thousand unit of storage.The collections are the gifts of Shuya residents: the bird's eggs, a portrait of VXIII - XX centuries, porcelain of VXIII - XX cent., decorative applied art of Russia and the countries of the East, a photo collection of 5 thousand unit of storage.
Since 1993 the museum carries out work on formation of the fund of well - known Russian poet - symbolist K.D.Balmont (1867-1942) who was born in the village of Gumnishchi Shuisky district.
The beginning of formation of an art collection was made by an actress of the Moscow theatre of drama and comedy, People's actress of RSFSR Ekaterina Jakovlevna Mazurova.

Opened in 1956. From 1956 till 1958-school museum of Regional Studies, from 1958 till 1972-People`s museum, since 1972-a branch of Ivanovo state historic revolutionary museum,since1998-modern name.
The basis of the museum collection are articles of peasants’ everyday life, hand-made goods, photodocumentary material.

The beginning of local regional study work in.
    Yurjevets was founded with organization of Yujevetski branch at Ivanovo-Voznesenski provincial scientific local regional study society in 1924. The museum has been created by the group of regional specialists A.I.Batuev, P.I.Makarov and B.V.Shirjaev. Alexey Ivanovich Batuev (1884-1965) was first director.
    The regional museum "Museums of the town of Jurjevts" consists of 4 museums: a historic local regional study museum, a house - museum of architects Vesnins, A.Tarkovskogo's museum center, the multimedia center "The House of the Cherkasski".
    The historic art museum of the town of Jurjevets was opened on December, 28, 1999. The building where the museum is placed, has been constructed in 1903 by a merchant, town mayor A.L.Fljagin.During Soviet time the school, and then many city establishments were housed here. On December, 28, 1999 the historic art museum was opened in this building. In a museum local regional study material on the history of the town from its foundation and till our time is collected. The exposition of a museum is placed on the second floor and l consists of 4 halls. The exposition is multilayered and unusual in the construction. Works of artists, whose names are connected with the town, photos of well-known families of Jurjevts,the life and crafts of city dwellers,etc.are presented here. Interesting and unique exhibits are exposed in the museum.
    Besides there is a showroom, library, salon for sale of products of local masters in the museum.

The museum was opened on January, 15, 1986, occupies a 2 floor private residence belonging to parents of outstanding architects. The basis of the exposition was made by the materials of State research museum named after Schusev, Yurjevets local regional study museum, personal archives of architect A.G.Chinjakov, critic K.V.Usacheva, relatives of the architects. Big help was rendered by the widow of V.A.Vesnin - N.M.Vesnina. The exposition of a museum is devoted to life and creativity of outstanding Russian architects brothers Vesnins - Victor, Alexander, Leonid, who spent their childhood in Yurjevets.
Such masterpieces of brothers Vesnins became the treasures of Russian and Soviet architecture: Sirotkin house in Nizhni Novgorod (nowadays the Nizhniy Novgorod art museum), bank in Ivanovo-Voznesensk, Dnieprogas(power station on the Dniepr), the Community center named after Likhachov, department store on Red Priesnja in Moscow.

It was opened on November, 29, 1996. The building has been constructed in 1911. The house has been transferred during Soviet time to inhabited municipal apartments which have existed till the moment of creation of the museum.
In 1938. N.M.Petrov (the stepfather of the mother of A.Tarkovsky) was given the job doctor in the regional hospital of. Yurjevets and the two rooms in this house became their place of residence. Andrey Tarkovsky lived at his grandmother's and the grandfather's house in 1936-1939 (in summertime) and in 1941-1943 in evacuation. The impressions of the childhood have left an indelible trace in his memory and were reflected in his creative work. The museum collection of the center was made of materials of the family archive handed by the sister of Andrey Tarkovsky - Marina Arsenjevna, and also materials of the Museum of cinema, archives of VGIK, named after S.A.Gerasimov and A.Tarkovsky's fund.
